Advertisement Persuasiveness

CocaCola advertisement 1926

This advertisement is promoting "Coca Cola" and their beverage that they have made. A thing to keep in mind in this picture is the sign in the top left corner, the phrase "delicious and refreshing" is bound to draw you in with the "power" of these words. The biggest detail in this advertisement is the family in it, how the husband and wife are both drinking the product while watching their child pretending to let the pumpkin drink his bottle of Coca Cola. With this being said it's trying to show that it's a great way to get the family together and it will be a fun experience with this beverage. The persuasive technique(s) used in this ad are: family, fun, and humor. Personally I feel that the the persuasive technique that is most dominant in this ad is family because it shows that they're all happy together, while drinking the beverage. The reason why I think this ad has the fun persuasive technique in it is because of the fact the the whole family or the people in the ad are all smiling showing that they're happy, the family persuasive technique plays a big part in this because in most cases when this technique is used it's also meshed with the fun technique to show that they're happy together and that the product is a way to bring family closer, the final technique that was used was humor, this wasn't really a big one but it was still included, the way this was showed was with the kid letting the pumpkin drink some of the coca cola, which can be a possible way to make a person smile from seeing it. Lastly I really do think that this is a good advertisement, it really shows that this is a "good" product, since it has a family spending time together, drinking the product, and overall being happy, this would make me want to buy it.

Creative Commons Photo Essay

Today I have been assigned to do a photo essay on creative commons, the theme I have chosen for my picture will be animals. I will be including 6 pictures all with different creative commons licenses, all authors names will be included as well.

Creative commons is an easy way to use other people's picture, music, legally. As long as you follow the few but very important licenses.

3 purposes of a blog

After I finished looking at all 12 blogs I picked 6 that caught my eye in particular for the 3 purposes of blogs

For to inform I chose bloglockers.com & engadget.com. Both bloglockers and engadget gave out information in some way, shape, or form, whether it be sports or technology. When I went on bloglockers it showed me the scores of current and old games that have happened. On engadget I quickly knew the latest technology and I saw a couple of reviews on the blog, and it help me figure out what was the new thing going around about technology. Both these blogs are great examples of blogs that inform people about on going things. Thats the reason why I chose bloglockers.com & engadget.com as the 2 blogs that inform.

For to entertain I picked lifehacker.com & kimjongillookingatthings.tumblr.com. Kimjongillookingatthings I found very entraining even if it was just a man looking at anything and everything, I still found somethings he looked at very interesting. It was a very new blog to me but I quickly got used to it, and it gave me a couple of laughs just looking at it. Lifehacker, another one I found entertaining, showed me a couple few new things I could do with a computer like some ways to fix a few problems, and it wasn't just computers they taught me how to hack they also taught me how to "hack" food. That's why for to entertain I chose lifehacker.com & kimjngillookingatthings.tumblr.com.

Last but not least, for to persuade I chose opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com & eurogamer.net. Eurogamer is a gaming blog, giving out opinions on games and new things that have been added try to get you to actually buy the game once it's available. Opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com is a blog that was about news and things that were going on in the world, it tried getting people to believe facts that they say are true. Finding 2 that are "to persuade" was a bit more challenging to find, but remembering that persuasion is also opinions I quickly found the 2 that I chose. So that's why I picked opinonator.blogs.nytimes.com & eurogamer.net as the persuasion blogs
